East, Salter Earn Mississippi-Alabama Crossover All-Tournament honors
Michael Ann East (Oxford) and Nala Salter (Floowood) were selected to the Mississippi-Alabama Crossover All-Tournament Team after standout performances during the event.
FULTON, Miss. – Michael Ann East (Oxford) and Nala Salter (Floowood) were selected to the Mississippi-Alabama Crossover All-Tournament Team after standout performances during the event.
East, a sophomore outside hitter, played in four matches and 16 sets where she recorded 41 kills, averaging 2.56 per set. She added 10 assists and totaled 47 points, finishing with 2.9 points per set.
Salter, a freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist, also appeared in four matches and 16 sets. She tallied 15 kills and one assist, while contributing 22.5 total points for the Lady Indians.
The full All-Tournament Team featured top players from across the region. Joining East and Salter were Dayion Johnson and Bailee Ory from Bevill State CC, along with Ava Boyll and Laney Kelley from Calhoun CC. Meridian CC was represented by Teri Brooks and Mackenzie Little, while Northeast Mississippi CC placed Carine Delfin and Sophie Johnson on the list. Northwest Mississippi CC had Adalyn Callahan and Ariana Woods recognized, and Northwest Shoals CC saw Hilde Grisham and Anna Holt earn honors. Pellissippi State CC was represented by Devyn Dunn and Emma Kate Pierce, while Southwest Mississippi CC's selections were Haley Eckert and Reagan Robinson. Wallace State CC–Hanceville rounded out the list with Abby McDonald and Sofiia Sobol.
The Inidans will be back in action when they hit the road to take on Dyersburg State on Thursday.
