ENTERPRISE, AL – The Lady Indians did not need a pretty shooting night to earn a road win Saturday, leaning on relentless defense and second-chance toughness to take down Enterprise State Community College, 46-33.
The Lady Indians set the tone early, building a 10-7 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 25-19 advantage into halftime. Enterprise State hung around into the third, but ICC stayed in control and took a 38-31 lead into the fourth. From there, the Lady Indians slammed the door, allowing just two points in the final period while finishing the game on an 8-2 run.
Tootie Lockett led the way with a workmanlike double-double, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Even with shots hard to come by, ICC created extra possessions all night. The Lady Indians pulled down 46 total rebounds, including 20 offensive boards, and repeatedly extended possessions until something finally cracked. That edge on the glass, paired with disruptive defense that produced 13 steals, proved decisive when the game tightened in the second half.
Emarie Boddie sparked ICC's pressure and pace with five steals to go with six points, six rebounds and two assists. Kelsi Dilworth knocked down two three-pointers and finished with six points and Kinsley James chipped in seven rebounds.
The Lady Indians will take on East Mississippi in non-conference action on Thursday. The Guaranty Bank opening tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
