ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lady Indians showed fight in a tough 2-1 road setback against St. Louis Community College on Thursday.
Despite falling behind early on two quick goals from the Archers, ICC regrouped and controlled much of the remaining match. The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Millie Webb (England) finished off a perfect feed from Noelie Therasse (Belgium), cutting the deficit in half and swinging momentum to the Lady Indians.
From that point forward, ICC applied steady pressure. Marissa Black (Olive Branch) led the attack with three shots on target, while Isobel Kinsella (Gloucestershire) and Brylee Smith (Columbus) each tested the Archer goalkeeper with dangerous efforts. In total, the Lady Indians tallied 10 shots, forcing St. Louis to defend for long stretches.
Goalkeeper Annabelle Holman (Amory) kept her side within reach, recording four saves against six shots on goal and holding St. Louis scoreless over the final 70 minutes.
The Lady Indians will be back in action when they face Jefferson College Saturday.
