CEDAR RAPIDS, Mo. – The Lady Indians recovered from an early deficit to claim a 3-1 road victory over Jefferson College on Saturday.
Down 1-0 at the break, ICC responded in the second half to take control of the match. Mellissa Veloso da Silva (Germany) tied the game in the 72nd minute with an unassisted strike, igniting the comeback.
Just eight minutes later, Millie Webb (England) gave ICC the lead, finishing a perfect setup from Veloso da Silva. The scoring surge continued in the 82nd minute when Isobel Kinsella (Gloucestershire) capped the rally with a goal off a feed from Webb, sealing the 3-1 victory.
Goalkeeper Annabelle Holman (Amory) helped keep Jefferson contained with four saves.
The Lady Indians will be back in action on Saturday, September 6 against Southern Union State after their match at Southwest Tennessee was cancelled.
