RIDGELAND, Miss. - The Lady Indians opened conference play on the road against third-ranked Holmes Community College on Tuesday night, falling 3-0.
The Lady Indians held their ground through the early stages before Holmes broke through in the 29th minute. Ten minutes later, the Lady Bulldogs added another to take a 2-0 lead at halftime. Holmes extended the advantage to 3-0 in the 60th minute to set the final margin.
Annabelle Holman turned in a strong performance despite the result, facing constant pressure from the nation's No. 3 team. She recorded 17 saves while keeping ICC in the match against a Holmes side that fired 37 total shots, 20 of them on goal.
The Lady Indians return to Fulton on Friday to face No. 9 Jones College. The Guaranty Bank Opening Kick is set for 2 p.m., and the match will stream live on LetsGoICCTV.com/blue.
