FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College heads to Decatur on Wednesday night looking to keep its late-season momentum rolling as the Indians face East Central in the NJCAA Region 23 Quarterfinals. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. inside Founders Gymnasium on Community Bank Court.
The Indians (19-13, 8-8 MACCC) enter the postseason riding a four-match win streak, highlighted by three straight sweeps to close out the regular season. ICC's balanced offense has averaged 10.6 kills per set while hitting .151 on the year, and its serving has been a consistent weapon, producing nearly two aces per set.
Defensively, ICC has shown grit and hustle with over 1,700 digs this season, holding opponents to a .138 hitting percentage. The front line has also been steady, averaging 1.38 blocks per set and forcing tough swings at the net.
East Central (13-11, 9-7 MACCC) has won two straight and defends its home court well, but the Indians' current rhythm and depth give them plenty of confidence heading into Wednesday's matchup.
